Terms of Service - Device Detox

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Device Detox ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Device Detox is a digital wellness iOS application that helps users:

Take intentional, timed breaks from selected apps using Apple's Screen Time API
Build focus habits through session streaks and completion tracking
Create voluntary self-accountability through commitment-based session configuration
Optionally end a session early via an In-App Purchase

3. Important Disclaimer

Device Detox is a voluntary self-regulation tool and is not a parental control, medical, or therapeutic application. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, including digital addiction or mental health disorders. If you have concerns about your digital habits or mental health, please consult a qualified professional.

All session restrictions in Device Detox are initiated and configured exclusively by you. Device Detox does not manage devices for other people.

4. In-App Purchases

Device Detox offers optional In-App Purchases ("Early Exit") that allow you to end a focus session before its scheduled end time:

Purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit 2
All sales are final — purchases grant a one-time session exit and are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies
You choose your commitment tier (price level) before starting a session; that tier applies for the duration of that session
Prices are displayed in your local currency as provided by the App Store

For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly, as all billing is managed by Apple.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App for its intended purpose of voluntary personal focus management
Not attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or modify the App or its extensions
Keep your device secure to protect your session data
Not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws

6. Screen Time API

Device Detox uses Apple's Screen Time API under the Family Controls entitlement, approved by Apple. By granting Screen Time permission, you authorise the App to apply voluntary app usage limits on your device during sessions you configure. You may revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time.

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us:

Session history is stored locally on your device and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account
We do not collect or transmit personal data to our servers
The identities of apps you choose to limit are never stored or transmitted

8. Intellectual Property

Device Detox and all associated content, design, and code are owned by Nothing-to-Add and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NOTHING-TO-ADD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

In particular, we are not liable for:

A session ending earlier or later than expected due to iOS background process limitations
Any consequences of the app's voluntary restriction features on your device usage
Data loss resulting from device failure, OS updates, or app deletion

10. App Availability

We strive to keep the App available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features without prior notice. iOS and Screen Time API changes by Apple may affect App functionality.

11. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Device Detox. Users under 18 should have parental consent. Device Detox is designed for voluntary self-use by individuals and is not a parental monitoring tool.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes will be resolved through appropriate legal channels in the jurisdiction of the developer's residence.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date on this page when changes are made.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. We reserve the right to terminate access for violations of these Terms.
