Privacy Policy - Device Detox

1. Information We Collect

Device Detox collects and stores the following information:

Session Data (stored locally / synced via your personal iCloud):

• Focus session records: start time, end time, planned duration, whether a session was completed or ended early
• Number of apps and categories limited during each session (counts only — individual app identities are never stored)
• Early-exit purchase amount and display price (e.g. "€0.99"), when applicable

App Preferences (stored locally on your device):

• Last-used app/category selection (serialised locally, never leaves your device)
• Last-used session duration and commitment tier

We do not collect:

• The identities of specific apps or categories you choose to limit
• Any health, financial, or personally identifiable information
• Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry
• Any data through third-party SDKs (the app has zero third-party dependencies)

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively for:

• Displaying your session history, streaks, and statistics within the app
• Pre-filling your last-used settings when you start a new session
• Calculating focus streaks (current streak, longest streak, total sessions)

3. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Session history is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

iCloud Sync (optional): If you are signed into iCloud on your device, session history may sync across your devices via CloudKit using your personal Apple ID. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

App Group Storage: Your active session state (timer position, selected app count, session configuration) is stored in a local App Group container shared only between the Device Detox app and its App Extensions on your device. This data never leaves your device.

Your data is protected by:

• Device-level encryption (iOS built-in security)
• No transmission of data to our servers
• App sandbox and App Group isolation

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data. We have no servers and no access to your information. Session history that syncs via iCloud is managed entirely by Apple under your Apple ID.

5. In-App Purchases

Device Detox uses Apple's StoreKit 2 for In-App Purchases (early session exit). All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple and accessible through your Apple ID.

6. Screen Time API Usage

Device Detox uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) to apply voluntary app usage limits during your focus sessions. This permission is granted by you and used solely to enforce the sessions you configure. We do not monitor, log, or transmit any information about your device usage patterns.

7. Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View: All session history is visible within the app
• Delete: Delete individual session records or clear all history through the app's settings
• Disable sync: Turn off iCloud sync in iOS Settings at any time
• Remove all data: Delete the app from your device to remove all locally stored data

8. Children's Privacy

Device Detox is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Screen Time API features of the app are intended for voluntary self-regulation by adult users.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
